コンステレーション(Constellation＝星座)は、オメガが「世界一」になることを目標に掲げ、オメガ=天文台コンクールだった時代を象徴する天文台と、コンステレーションのルーツである8つの星をレリーフとしてバックケースに深く彫り込み、1952年に世界に発表されました。 オメガ自動巻システムの進化は、常にコンステレーションの歴史と共にあります。 ムーブメントに様々な改変を重ねても、この独特のデザインを大きく変えることはなく、今もなおフラッグシップモデルに君臨し続けています。
オメガのCal.500番台は、僕たち時計技師には特に高い評価を得ているキャリバーです。 パーツ一つ一つの仕上げ工程は既存のキャリバーを明らかに超えています。 腐食に強い赤銅メッキ仕上げは現在のキャリバーにも使用され続けています。 ローターの2段鏡面仕上げは、製造工程が複雑になるため下位モデルでは使用されません。 24石ルビーが仕込まれているあたりは、パテックフィリップ、ヴァシュロンコンスタンタン、オーデマピケの世界3大高級腕時計のメーカーたちにもひけを取りません。

With 24 rubies, it is comparable to Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, and Audemars Piguet, the world's three largest luxury watch makers.
Cal.561 is equipped with a quick change system for the first time in the date function. Emphasis is placed on the stability of accuracy, the balance is inherited in the same size as before, a chiller screw is arranged, and a swan neck firmly guards a regulator.
The most attractive feature of this watch is the "Pie-pan dial". The dodecagonal design, traced around the index, has come to be called because of the shape of a frying pan for baking puff pastry. Since this pie-pan dial is mostly made by hand due to its characteristic design, the manufacturing cost was too high and dial replacement was not widely used by users. That is a major factor in increasing the rarity of this watch.
